The poor quality comes from bandwidth problems while transferring the video signal from the cam iOS device to the iStopMotion iOS devices. I am terrible sorry, that you aren't satisfied with the video preview quality of the iStopMotion Remote Camera. I would still recommend the main app, but only if you're not planning to use it for a project that will rely on a remote camera. You can even perform the entire editing process without leaving the app Boinx was kind enough to send me a review copy of iStopMotion for the iPad, and I thought it was definitely worth sharing. At the moment it's unusable, which is a massive shame because if it worked the whole iStop package would be phenomenal. With iStopMotion, casual users can quickly and easily whip out their iPad and start snapping photos of any object or material and start animating it.

I'm going to try disabling HD on my iPhone to see if that helps, but as we're using an iPad Pro with HD function I doubt it.

I also frequently use remote cameras on the same network for things like video conferencing, so it's not a network issue. We have really high speed, high quality wifi and I made sure nothing else in the house was running on it at the time. Even at its best the image quality is too low to be able to see the 'onion skin' image on the main screen, which is this app's biggest selling point. The image quality is useless: a massive lag and often so pixilated you can't see the objects. Unfortunately the connection is terrible. However, filming from the iPad is clunky so we invested in a cheap camera stand and an iPhone attachment thinking the iStop Remote Camera app would be the perfect solution.

We have the full iStopMotion app and it's brilliant.
